On Tuesday, January 17, hundreds of islanders came out for the Hawaii premiere of The League of Grateful Sons. The screening was held at the Waikiki Shell, a picturesque outdoor theater located in Kapiolani Park at the foot of Diamond Head on Oahu.
A number of All-American football players who participated in the 60th Anniversary Hula Bowl attended the screening, as did Doug Phillips and Geoff Botkin, two of the producers of The League of Grateful Sons. After the credits rolled, Phillips and Botkin took the stage and shared their vision for the film.
In all, the evening served as a great tribute to the WWII generation on the island home of Pearl Harbor—the place where it all began for America’s boy-warriors.
